People are frustrated by how garbage and recycling were handled. Big contracts went to an outside firm like GFL. Food services in public facilities are tied up with American companies like Aramark instead of local alternatives. We can’t let that happen.
Local workers can do this work. We should avoid paying someone else’s shareholders.
The Local Guarantee pushes for bringing work back in-house when these contracts expire. Commit to eliminating American contracts and sourcing locally. Tell the mayor, council, and municipal election candidates to commit to hiring people locally and not letting our dollars leave.
